Master of Science in Architectural Studies, Themed Enviornment Integration with AI Certificate, Anticipated DEC 2024

PAPERS:

I am really enjoying my classes at UF City Lab, working on my Master of Science in Architectural Studies/Concentration in Themed Environment Integration. It complements my BSE from the University of Pennsylvania well and I see a future path to exciting things to come. Recently we were to write a focus paper on the following: Identify a problem we knew existed and what thinking tools would we use to solve it. As I say in my CV, this is something I am passionate about. With all due respect to the Disney Imagineers for the ingenious work on Star Wars, the Rise of the Resistance, I suggest a few tweaks.

The authenticity and immersivity of a theme park attraction is a nebulous thing.  Immersing a participant into the ride is a difficult task, while accidentally breaking the illusion is far, far easier.  This is especially true, ironically, the more immersive a ride is; that which raises you higher falls farther when the illusion is shattered.  I am someone who has always found myself noticing such immersion breaking phenomenon.  In this essay, I will discuss how the look and feel of the stormtrooper formation in the preshow to Star Wars: The Rise of the Resistance can be improved by adding small vibrational motors to simulate natural movements and jitters.  To support this view, I will use the following four tools: observing, imaging, abstracting, and forming patterns. Fabrication Project: NFC Enabled Glove & Arduino Control

:

Title: Prototype Development of an NFC-Enabled Glove for Themed Interactions

I developed a prototype NFC-enabled glove designed to enhance user interactions within a themed environment. The project involved researching components, integrating an NFC module, and programming the microcontroller to handle NFC communication, with interactions resulting in audio feedback as an analog for the actual response. This prototype is intended to be transitioned into a finished product for seamless and intuitive engagement with NFC-enabled devices.  MORE.....
